He obtained a degree in law from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Chihuahua. He was a partner in a prestigious law firm and has extensive experience in the procurement of justice and specifically in fighting organized crime.
He has already worked in the Attorney General’s office, where he served as a delegate in the state of Chihuahua. He was also Assistant Attorney General and Attorney General in the State of Chihuahua.
He subsequently worked in Federal Government, which requires enormous legal knowledge, specifically in the Interior Secretariat, where he successively held the positions of Director of Internal Control, Undersecretary of Legal Affairs and Human Rights and Under-Secretary of the Interior.
He was appointed by President Felipe Calderón to serve as Attorney General on September 7 2009 and confirmed by Senate on the 24th of the same month.
