Was born in León, Guanajuato on 9 January 1956.
Eduardo Sojo’s professional life has alternated between two main areas: public service and academia. He served as economic advisor to Felipe Calderón during the presidential campaign and was subsequently the Transition Team's Coordinator of Liaison Work with the Federal Public Administration.
Within Public Administration, he was Head of the President's Office for Public Policies and Coordinator of the Economic Cabinet during the 2000-2006 administration. He also held several positions in the National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Informatics and the Head Office of Economic and Social Policy.
At the state level, he served as Coordinator of Economic Planning during Vicente Fox Quesada's administration, where he was responsible for economic policy design, planning and evaluation. In the technological sphere, he was full-time professor and researcher at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and research analyst for the Link Project of the University of Pennsylvania, where he undertook joint research with Nobel Economics laureate Lawrence Kelin on the combination of econometric models and time series models.
His most recent publications include De la alternancia al desarrollo (From Power Switching to Development) and Políticas Públicas en Democracia (Public Policies in Democracy). He obtained a BA in Economics at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and an MA in Economics at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his doctoral studies with a specialty in Industrial Organization and Finances at the same institution.
